I haven't painted in nearly a year.
A lot has happened over the past few months including making aliyah, a new baby, a new job, and a few other creative projects I have been working on. I recently printed a whole bunch of stickers, which I plan on slapping on anything I can here in Tzfat. I am also in the process of producing prints of a number of paintings, so that will provide fresh stock for orders.
I any case, I have been thinking a lot lately about painting again, and may even change my focus. Tzfat can have a number of different effects on people, and I feel that lately I am inspired to paint a totally different subject matter.
We will soon see what comes of this...
In the meantime, my mind is on Uman and new beginnings.
At moment we are living in Marietta, GA, and I have just finished a painting of Nechama Leibowitz.
This painting was commissioned by a good friend in NY/Israel. I have actually never read any of her work, but after learning a little bit about her and working through the process of creating this piece I am certainly interested in exploring her biblical commentaries.
The new Zusha album is incredible! That's point #1. Number 2 - the band selected one of my paintings for the album's cover art. It's an honor, and is also very, very exciting, as this band is going to go far....
Here are a few pictures of the album and some shots from Zusha's first concert at Mercury Lounge in NY.
